It’s Time
Gritty. Tough. Heart. Relentless. All words that describe the Boston Bruins, who’ve spent a century spilling blood and dripping sweat while cementing their place as one of the NHL’s greatest franchises.
On the heels of their record-breaking 2023 regular season, the B’s asked us to create a playoff hype video that would make people “want to run through a wall” – and fortunately for them, spots that elicit smashed walls are our specialty.
“It’s Time” not only symbolized the turning of the calendar to April and the start of the Stanley Cup playoffs but also the unspoken urgency for a Bruins team, full of veteran stars, making one, final push for a banner. A custom score from Boston composer Chris Plante and an animated ticking “B” clock added to the suspense.
As if we weren’t already primed to run through a brick wall, the Bruins’ centennial season was also just around the corner – and since they’d be the first NHL club in the U.S. to hit that historic 100-year mark, we had to help them kick it off right.
Our short-form film, “Stitches” debuted on opening night to a packed house at TD Garden and via broadcast for the launch of the team’s “Blood, Sweat & 100 Years” campaign. A love letter to the city of Boston, the spot, featuring a custom score from the Boston Landmarks Orchestra, reflects on a century’s worth of Bruins hockey through the lens of a lifelong fan and the passing of the torch to the next generation.
